Barras Art and Design is a truly unique space in the heart of the East End of Glasgow just a stones throw from the City Centre. The space is a large atrium under which lives a large internal courtyard area, perfect for hosting a wide variety of events, an award winning restaurant & bar, a number of shops and studios, as well as Glasgow's first shipping container street food yard The BackYard.The Barras area is of hugely significant historical importance to the city of Glasgow and the idea of BAaD is to help celebrate this and encourage the people of Glasgow and Visitors to the city to spend time in the area. Located within BAaD is The Calton Taproom which stocks over 120 beers and has many limited editions from the our fantastic local breweries right on our doorstep. From - NEIPA's to DIPA's, Porter to Amber ale's, Saisons to Sours or stouts to wheat beers, served alongside one of the finest BBQ and Smokerys in Glasgow.** RELOCATING EARLY 2021** A'Challtainn is a restaurant and cocktail bar in the heart of BAaD at the Barras. Serving the finest Scottish fish and shellfish, alongside carefully crafted meat and vegetarian dishes. We pride ourselves on our sustainably sourced seafood produce. The restaurant sits high above the space at BAaD allowing guests to enjoy the ever changing light in this open but intimate space.
