The Alameda County Office of Education (ACOE) provides fiscal oversight, teacher training, and support to 18 districts in the county and direct instruction for students not enrolled in district schools.ACOE plays a critical role in state and local school improvement efforts in the region by actively linking administrators, teachers, and students to California state and federal policy priorities and new initiatives through a strategic infrastructure of leadership and hands-on support. Annually, the ACOE Educational Services Division provides professional development and technical assistance to over 30,000 participants in academic areas and student services. Our programs have an additional impact on over 1,100 schools, 650,000 students, and 35,000 teachers in over 90 school districts.
