Sonoma Construction, Inc. was conceived to help rebuild the communities and homes in the Santa Rosa area after the wildfires of 2017. What we brought to homeowners was a true turn-key solution, we provided an architect to design the homes, obtained all required permits then completed the construction of their homes. We have successfully rebuilt approximately twenty homes and are now looking come back home to the bay area and work there. The corporation is run by a father and sons team (Greg, Nick, and Josh Schmidt) with over 75 combined years of construction experience. Greg Schmidt started in construction in 1979 after attending Santa Clara University following his father's footsteps. After working in at a couple of companies Greg settled in with DL Falk Construction where he stayed for 25 years, for the last 15 years Greg was Director of Operations overseeing approximately $45MM worth of construction yearly. During that time Greg directly oversaw both public projects including schools, library's, and fire stations. Greg also directly supervised the real estate acquisition, entitlement, design, construction, and finally sale of several condominium projects. After the devastating Tubbs fires in 2017 Greg and Nick felt it was necessary to help the community, so we started Sonoma Construction.Nick Schmidt started in the construction industry in 2001. He also settled in with DL Falk for 12 years where he was a superintendent running multiple multimillion-dollar projects at any given time. He has done both public and private work projects ranging from $1.5MM-$13MM. Josh Schmidt worked as a plumber bringing another field of expertise into the company, Josh has also had several years of managerial experience and will be helping with the administrative side of the company.We are now moving our business back to the San Jose area where we all live. We are looking to take on residential and light commercial projects in the area.
