The River School, a non-selective, co-educational Christian school in Worcester (since 1985), where staff and parents work together to help students discover God's purpose for their lives. The River School's core values centre on bringing out the best in our children; not just academically, but morally, emotionally, socially, physically and spiritually. The foundational Christian principles are very important to us and are fundamental to the way the school operates. Our aim for each student is that they are confident, well-rounded citizens with the best character qualities, skills, discipline and knowledge needed to realise their potential and gifts.River School students can enjoy an education from 2-16 years old, beginning in our thriving Nursery. They can then transition smoothly through the primary and secondary stages until they complete their GCSEs. Class sizes are deliberately small (under 20). The School's recent ISI Inspection Report (March 2020) highlighted many positive aspects of the school, including: excellent behaviour, positive attitudes to learning, good progress academically, excellent self-esteem and self-confidence, excellent communication skills, high expectations of staff. There are many opportunities for children to develop their skills and confidence through the curriculum and through extra-curricular activities; such as in sport, drama and music. The School has a fantastic "Forest" school and uses this as a platform to build independence and self-esteem in the children. The River School is a place of adventure and exploration, of fresh challenges and exciting opportunities where children can discover their worth, grow their character, develop academically and pursue excellence.
