The firm's founding attorney, Ruven Kaplan, commenced practicing for his own account in 1960 with Dyne and Kaplan. In January 1975, Ruven went into partnership with Derek Blumberg – hence the name of the firm, KAPLAN BLUMBERG. Now both successful businessmen with extensive private property holdings, Ruven and Derek own Bluekap Properties and continue to offer valuable legal expertise to Kaplan Blumberg as consultants. The firm started practising under the name and style of KAPLAN BLUMBERG in August 2000. The current partners of the firm are Grant Howard, David Nezar, Katie Morris and Peter Wiehahn, each of whom specialise in a particular field of law. The partners are supported by Ruven Kaplan, Derek Blumberg, Desireah Howard and Peter Williams, all of whom are consultants to the firm. With additional professionals (attorneys and candidate attorneys) and its general staff, Kaplan Blumberg's team comprises approximately 40 personnel. This includes 4 Conveyancers and 2 Notary Publics. Being a relatively small firm, we are able to engage on a personal level with our clients and forge relationships which last many years.
