Considering our name, "Gaia", a Greek word which means "Earth". After some research with farmers, we found out a common issue they were all facing: diseases are dangerous to their crops and, in the end, their yearly revenue. Some of them lose everything they have because of unpredicted pathogens they did not detect during the growing process.By the end of 2050, world population is expected to be increased by 35%. Therefore, food production must be almost doubled by then.We want to attack this issue. So, What do we do? We aim to save our crops from diseases! An example we would like to mention is the case of India, where in terms of monetary value, Indian agriculture suffers an annual loss of about US$ 42.66 millions due to insect pests. And how we do we save the crops?Firstly, we detect the disease as soon as, and even before it appears. This will depend on several parameters, such as temperature, humidity, soil moisture, etc... Our data sources are satellites and hardware devices we developed. Our devices have integrated sensors to measure temperature, relative humidity, light, and air pollution / quality etc.Secondly we evaluate the risk of this disease to appear and if it's accurate enough, we provide a solution to the farmer. The evaluation process goes through cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning algorithms for prediction and anomaly detection. The Solutions we provide to the farmer vary from agricultural advice (i.e. cut some leafs, water the plant, etc...) to fertilisers.
