The Pacific & Asian Affairs Council (PAAC) is an independent, Hawaii-based, 501(c)3 nonprofit with a mission to promote understanding and empower engagement on global and international issues with special attention to Hawaii's role in the Asia-Pacific region.PAAC provides global education opportunities open to all Hawaii high school students, offering a broad range of opportunities to learn about the world and link connections to Hawaii. High School Global Education Program activities include: PAAC Clubs, Afterschool Global Studies Classes, Global Vision Summits, Study Tours Abroad (including scholarships), Academic WorldQuest Competition, Global Leadership Program, and more.PAAC connects Hawaii to emerging foreign leaders through the International Visitor Leadership Program, which is the premier professional exchange program of the US Department of State. Participants meet with professional counterparts for exchange while also learning about the culture and lifestyle of everyday Americans.PAAC values Hawaii teachers and offers K-12 Teacher Workshops in partnership with the East-West Center Arts Program. Hands on activities and curriculum ideas focused on the arts and culture of the Asia-Pacific are presented for teachers to take into their classroom.
