WHW's mission is to prevent gender based violence and to empower ALL survivors. WHW believes that a world without gender-based violence is possible and that all members of our caring community can live in a world of equality, health and vitality.WHW has been providing non-shelter crisis intervention services to survivors of gender based violence since 1973. WHW provides comprehensive services to the region in both responding to and preventing youth dating and sexual violence, as well as adult domestic violence, sexual violence, and stalking. WHW is the expert in crisis response and prevention strategies in our community- serving Hamilton, Butler, Brown, and Adams Counties.Crisis Intervention Services: -24 Hour Crisis Hotline-24 Hour Hospital Accompaniment-Court Advocacy-Individual Crisis Intervention -Support Groups-Counseling-Law Enforcement and Prosecutor's Office Advocacy-Legal Aid Advocacy-LGBTQ Survivor Advocacy-Campus Based Advocacy at University of Cincinnati, Xavier University, and Miami University-Spanish Speaking AdvocacyPrevent & Empower:WHW's Prevent & Empower Program trains professionals on gender-based violence and effective response. The overall goal is to ensure that community members will appropriately identify abuse and intervene to increase the safety of survivors. Prevent & Empower also educates youth on prevention of dating and sexual violence through up to 10 sessions of evidence-based curriculum in over 20 schools. The greatest opportunity we have to help survivors is to stop the violence from ever happening in the first place. Our children, youth, and families deserve the freedom of never experiencing trauma in the first place. That is why WHW is the leader in prevention services in Hamilton and Butler Counties.
