CropLife India is not a profit oriented organization, wholly funded by membership. It works closely with CropLife Asia & CropLife International, the global parent organizations spread across 91 countries, to drive programs to promote safe, responsible and judicious use of crop protection solutions under the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach through Product Stewardship, Progressive Regulation, Intellectual Property Rights and Data protection.The regulatory framework of pesticides encompasses national, regional, and international legislation and conventions that help assure safety for users, consumers and the environment. A regulatory environment will define the speed at which farmers will reap benefits of new technologies and be globally competitive.The approval and use of Crop Protection Products is highly regulated all over the world, including India. India has a robust regulatory system and highly knowledgeable regulatory officials compared to most other countries. The Indian regulatory system is rapidly evolving to harmonize with global regulations as per FAO/ WHO guidelines in order to ensure that farmers have the best choice of products and latest innovations on par with farmers across the world with established efficacy as well as safety. While India's regulatory system for registration of crop products is a resilient one, CropLife India continues its engagement to advocate a regulatory system that would continuously improve to facilitate introduction of innovative crop protection solutions to the farmers.
