Once fully established in June 2022, Toronto Seniors Housing Corporation (TSHC) will provide safe, affordable and supportive rental housing in a state of good repair for seniors (age 59+) living in the 83 seniors-designated buildings owned by Toronto Community Housing. TSHC will provide services through an Integrated Service Model designed to enable senior tenants to age in place, have successful tenancies and enjoy better quality of life.The creation of Toronto Seniors Housing Corporation is part of the City's Tenants First Plan and recognizes that seniors have specialized needs. In June 2022, our newly-created organization will assume leadership of 83 seniors-designated buildings that accommodate approximately 15,000 residents aged 59 and up.Seniors-focused social housing combines appropriate health and community supports with well-maintained homes and living conditions to ensure that seniors can continue to live independently. Toronto Seniors Housing Corporation will further develop an integrated service model that brings access to healthcare into seniors buildings, such as door-to-door vaccination clinics during the pandemic.
