Some of these opportunities were truly amazing and taught us how to "do remote right". We had the necessary support, tools and structure to collaborate in a productive and meaningful way. But…other times (and, if we're being honest, more often than not…) we witnessed projects and teams unravel without any set of shared expectations on how to operate when you aren't face to face. Deadlines were missed, employees grew frustrated, and, in the end, the employers lost revenue and some of their top talent. The gap was glaring.
