Daughters Rising is a nonprofit organization that works to prevent sex trafficking by empowering at-risk girls through education, training programs, and scholarships.Daughters Rising created R.I.S.E. workshops to teach real world computer skills, confidence, women's rights and health in a supportive peer driven environment. The workshops are in locations defined by the U.N. as points of origin, transit and destination for persons trafficked for sexual exploitation. The workshops are completely free, and help us to identify candidates for scholarships. RISE workshops give families hope for a better future that starts with staying in school and results in more earning power and changing the fabric of their community. Learn more about RISE workshops.Increasing Women EarningIn 2011 Daughters Rising launched the RISE UP shop to help the mothers in impoverished rural villages to earn for their families. We buy handmade crafts at a fair price to sell online to a larger western audience and then invest 100% of the proceeds back into the next generation of young women. We connect and facilitate collaborations between indigenous craftswomen and artisans with designers to create unique jewelry and accessories. We are working towards developing sustainable models and increasing distribution.Raising Awareness
