For over 50 years, Colombia has experienced a violent armed conflict. Guerrillas were born among the farming community and their claims were above all related to the Colombian agricultural policy. Over time the dynamics of the conflict have evolved to a more complex situation including drug-trafficking, which since the 80s has financed numerous armed groups.Proyectar Sin Fronteras acts to develop a social action model in a post-conflict situation for the city of Bogota. This action includes the reconstruction of social links, socio-economic impetus, and the development of urban and peri-urban farming, in respect of the environment, in order to guarantee a lasting peace in Colombia. In this way Proyectar Sin Fronteras has structured its action in two projects : Sembrando Confianza (Sowing Trust) and Centro COMParte (Sharing Centre).For the last 25 years Colombia has paved the way for reconciliation with several armed groups. In October 2015, President Juan Manuel Santos together with the main guerrilla, the FARCs, announced a ceasefire. The parties committed to sign a final peace agreement before March 2016. In spite of the new step made on the path to peace, Colombian society remains deeply divided and violent. In this way, peace building is still a key challenge for Colombia.The context of the armed conflict has deepened the divide within Colombian society. The socio-economic fracture between rural and urban areas, and tensions inherited from the conflict are a symptom of this divide. In fact, Colombia has experienced important displacement of population as a consequence of the conflict, that is not only a movement of internally displaced people (1), but also demobilized guerrilla fighters and paramilitaries, mainly moving from rural to urban areas. For this reason, most of the cities of the country, and particularly Bogota, have experienced a massive influx of an uprooted population with farming knowledge and skills. Consequently, cities like Bogota have to deal with internal disputes and feed an increasingly important number of urban dwellers.
