The University of Rochester School of Nursing has been a pioneering force in nursing education, practice, and research since 1925. Building on a long tradition of trailblazing, UR Nursing pursues excellence in clinical and scientific learning, discovery, and nursing care within an environment of diversity and inclusion. UR Nursing is invested in the Rochester region, delivering high-quality clinical services that address critical health needs. It houses the Center for Employee Wellness, which offers evidence-based wellness programs to more than 70 employers, and Passport Health, which offers services for preventing travel-related illnesses. UR Nursing also provides free, comprehensive primary and mental health care services to students at 2 public high schools in Rochester. Additionally, faculty and staff lead the Western New York Comprehensive Care Center for Eating Disorders, a hub for eating disorder services that serves 30 counties in our region. Advancing research and scientific discovery is a core mission of the School. Its research primarily focuses on five key areas of excellence: aging, cardiovascular health, cancer care and survivorship, sexual health and HIV/AIDS; and parent-child health, adolescent and transgenerational health. The school consistently ranks among the top 30 nursing schools in research funding from the NIH. UR Nursing ranks among the nation’s best in delivering education at all levels within an environment of diversity and inclusion.
