The Mannheimer Foundation, Inc., is an AAALAC-accredited, national leader in nonhuman primate medicine, reproduction, and educational training. With over 4,000 nonhuman primates (rhesus and cynomolgus macaques, hamadryas baboons) between two sites in Homestead and LaBelle, FL, our animals are socially housed outdoors year-round in a variety of innovative enclosures. We have veterinary, colony management, animal care, and facility maintenance teams working together to provide the best possible care and welfare. Our mission is to promote education in, and the conservation and domestic breeding of nonhuman primates for use in biomedical, veterinary, and biobehavioral research to improve human and animal health. Breeding animals for these purposes enhances conservation, as it makes trapping animals in the wild an unnecessary practice. Many of our positions require elements of cross-training to ensure excellence in animal care. Working together is crucial, and we have spent considerable time building our team. We seek highly motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic team members that are committed, adaptable, and able to occasionally work weekends and long hours as necessary to reach Foundation goals. We value communication, and the ability to follow direction, accept personal responsibility and accountability, ask for clarification, and offer and seek help when necessary. As we strongly believe in education and training, we provide opportunities for staff to engage in continuing education, certifications, and more. Personal drive and dedication are crucial for professional development and hard work is recognized. In addition, we offer an excellent benefits package, including healthcare, paid-time-off, and paid holidays. Salaries are based on experience and skill level. As a 501(C)(3) organization, our employment qualifies for the Federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF). The Mannheimer Foundation, Inc. is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
