Emergency Medical Technician at Dartmouth Undergraduate Journal of Science - Hanover, NH, US
First started in 1998 by a handful of Dartmouth undergraduates, the Dartmouth Undergraduate Journal of Science remains one of the most prolific collegiate science publications in the nation. The journal was recognized and praised by British scientific journal Nature for its ability to expose undergraduates to the intricacies of academia and research from an early age. Articles are published in online and print medium; while online articles are short reviews on more recent scientific discoveries, the print articles pull from a variety of disciplines to synthesize information about a more general topic that often is an inspiration from a past class. Writers who publish frequently are soon promoted to editors, and such editors are later invited to be a part of the board. Since the early 2000s, DUJS has been publishing online and print periodicals, the latter of which can be found around campus and frequently through the Upper Valley of New Hampshire.
