Orient Impex is a company established in 1978 and in the last 35 years has built a treasure-trove of knowledge and experience in the application, handling and properties of Advanced High Strength Steels (AHS), Ultra High Strength (UHS) and Abrasion resistant (AR) steel plates. Orient Impex has facilities within itself and with subsidiaries for handling these tough materials. There are facilities for plasma cutting and laser cutting using CNC systems, rolling and press braking, drilling and tapping and welding into full solution.These steels are unique in more ways than one and a deep knowledge is essential for a successful experience in using them. Further, expertise in working them is essential too as otherwise these expensive steels will not deliver value. Thermal cutting them will reduce their strength in the Heat Affected Zone (HAZ) and that can be minimized or eliminated by cutting under water. Drilling on them is complicated needing special tools, machinery and processes.
