Paloma is an award-winning small family-owned and operated vineyard and winery in the Spring Mountain AVA of the Napa Valley. They produce one of the finest Merlots made in the U.S., as well as some world-class Cabernet Sauvignon. In 2003, their 2001 Merlot was recognized by the Wine Spectator as their "Top Pick" in the world, over approximately 15,000 other wines. They farm 15 acres at the very top of Spring Mountain, 2200 feet high above the Napa Valley floor. Their varying sun exposure, terraced hillsides, and volcanic soil help to create small microclimates and unique growing conditions that lend to incredibly complex wines. Founded by Jim & Barbara in 1983, Paloma Vineyard is now Owned and Operated by their son, Sheldon Richards, who, like Jim and Barbara, works the vines, makes the wine, and hosts the tastings. Visiting Paloma Vineyard is a very special, intimate experience.
