The Cal Poly Prototype Vehicles Laboratory is a student organization who believes that innovation is the journey, not the destination.At PROVE Lab, we believe clean energy is the future. We want to show the world that the future is bright. And we're doing it with ever-bolder vehicles designed to do ever-bolder things.PROVE Lab's flagship project is a purely solar-powered car designed to claim an international land speed record - 65 mile per hour with no battery or other energy storage. The car is powered by rooftop-grade solar cells, features an aerodynamic and stylish composite body, and a strong complement of safety systems. This vehicle aims to demonstrate the continuous improvement of residential solar technology and its potential imapcts on the future of transportation.As the team finishes the solar car effort, work has already begun on Project 2 - a solar-electric hybrid that will travel 1000 miles on a single charge. This vehicle will not only provide the cure for range anxiety: we're going to make it look like a Ferrari, handle like a McLaren, and eventually drive itself.Come with us on our mission to change the world.
