Turing Club is a UBC club that aims to democratize artificial intelligence knowledge. We teach UBC students how to understand and work with AI - no coding experience required. A problem we see with the current approach to teaching university students AI is that it's taught as an advanced mathematical and computational science - this leaves out people unwilling to commit themselves to a course of study in linear algebra, calculus and computer science. By introducing people to AI and machine learning from more intuitive principles - like the neuron model familiar to psychology students, or through graphical interfaces for machine learning like WEKA - we can empower more people with AI knowledge.
