Nemesis started as a concept to connect the barista community together via a magazine that would profile every great barista in our city and their commitment to the craft as well as their passions outside/beyond coffee.We chose the word, nemesis, because of the multitude of layers associated with that word but simply put, we wanted to do something progressive and against the grain in our industry. There is an element of anti-establishment even now, and especially when starting the concept, so when we found the word nemesis, we fell in love and ran with it. All other meanings/definitions are more or less coincidental.
