Red Acres grows quality hydroponic lettuces and herbs on our Century Farm using the best in hydroponics science and years of ag know-how. We offer fresh farm to table produce and make it a daily goal to provide friendly, courteous and prompt service to our customers.Products:Hydroponic Lettuces and Herbs offered are Romaine, Butter Bibb, Mix, Burger, Garden, Cherokee, Skyphos, Micro Greens, Red Vein Sorrel and Basil.Seasonally we will also sell in our store strawberries, sweet corn, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, apples, potatoes, watermelons, cantaloupes, onions, radishes, eggplant and squash. All of this produce is local.History Of Red Acres: Our 6th generation family farm was established in 1880 by George Thomas Williams. Over the years Red Acres has produced 5 generations of dairy Holstein cows, turkeys, grains, hay and straw.The original owner, George Thomas passed Red Acres to his son Harry Thomas, then passed to Albert Porter, passed to his son Harry Thomas II, passed to his son Albert Bryan and his son Davison Bryan is the 6th generation.In 1994 Red Acres was designated as a "Century Farm" – owned and farmed by one family for at least 100 years.During 2004 the Holstein cows were sold and Red Acres became totally a grain, hay and straw farming operation.In May 2015, Bryan (5th generation) and his mother added to their farming, Red Acres Hydroponics – growing lettuce and herbs in water year round in their newly built double bay greenhouse. The out buildings date from the 1930's. One of our heritage buildings is being renovated to be office space and a welcome center for visitors coming to purchase our Red Acres Hydroponics, lettuce and herbs.
