Houselink: is a non-profit supportive housing provider, funded primarily by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, that: Houses over 400 adults with serious mental health challenges, along with over 60 children Owns 22 buildings throughout Toronto including ten five-bedroom houses, a duplex, triplex and fourplex, new-construction townhouses and small apartment buildings, and renovated apartment buildings (one under development) Provides support in 9 leased buildings The key to Houselink's success is the belief that people have the right to be responsible for themselves and their own destiny. From the outset, Houselink has believed that people – including people with serious mental illness – know what is best for them. It believes that people rise to the challenge of high expectations, and will seize responsibility if they have the support needed to succeed. This belief is entrenched in Houselink's mission statement, and has shaped its approach to membership, tenant selection, housing management and support.
