1300locate utilises the most advanced Radio Detection Units available for locating cables with a metallic content or trace wire. This includes most Communications and Data cables, electrical cables, some water and sewerage pipes, gas and petroleum pipes. We also utilise trace rods for location of empty conduits.1300locate are industry leaders and pioneers in the use of GPR for location of untraceable utilities such as fibre, PVC, PE, and poly. The GPR is also a handy tool for the location of buried manholes and post tension cables. 1300locate use and recommend the IDS GPR over other brands such as Mala for its superior capabilities in depth, detection and visual quality.1300locate have vacuum excavation (Potholing) units available for different and varying applications. These units are used in conjunction with utility locating. Due to the increasing statistics of damaged utilities, it is almost mandatory to expose utilities prior to working around them. All new pipelines and conduit installs should be inspected for integrity and quality. For conduit installs, CCTV should be utilised to ensure pipe work has not been damaged prior to cable hauling. Many incidents have occurred over time with cables being hauled through damaged pipe work resulting in safety issues and financial burden. These problems can be overcome with a simple pipe inspection prior to cable haul or on completion of pipe laying. Our CCTV Unit has fully traceable heads for accurate detection of breaks, cracks etc in pipe work from 90mm to 2500mm in diameter. 1300locate has the most advanced CCTV units which feature full 360 deg rotating heads with pan, tilt and zoom and is rated to 100m in depth. We have the capability to camera up to 500m in any one continuous run, with all results in high definition digital recording. All recordings can be transferred to DVD or USB with council preferred WinCan Reporting.
