Wimmera CMA works in partnership with the community, stakeholders, and partners to deliver a range of services to improve and enhance the condition of the region's environment. Wimmera CMA's Vision is for ‘a healthy Wimmera catchment where a resilient landscape supports a sustainable and profitable community.' The Wimmera catchment boundary is located in western Victoria and covers an area of approximately 30,000km2 or 10% of Victoria. The Wimmera extends from the Grampians National Park to Lake Albacutya, near Rainbow, and from the South Australian border in the west to Navarre in the east. It includes the Wimmera River catchment and the eastern part of the Millicent Coast Basin. The region has a population of approximately 50,000 and about one quarter of its residents rely directly on agriculture for income.
