volunteer parking patrol and grounds patrol at Peterborough Musicfest - Peterborough, ON, CA
Every year a town anxiously awaits an event that will showcase it's uniqueness and sense of community. For two months in the heart of summer, Peterborough Musicfest galvanizes a city and greatly impacts an economy with 17 free concerts. Popular bands such as Tegan and Sara, Carly Rae Jepsen, Walk Off The Earth, Hanson, Emerson Drive, Randy Bachman, and Chad Brownlee have graced the Fred Anderson Stage at Del Crary Park. On the shores of picturesque Little Lake, Musicfest, by entertaining locals with prominent live acts, generates a sizable economic impact to local business and tourist attractions. In 2010, an Economic Impact Study revealed that the Musicfest provides a $4.8 million boost to the region through hotels, restaurants and shopping. This 8-week summer music event is funded completely through corporate sponsorship, government support at all levels, fundraising initiatives, and private donations. Peterborough Musicfest is proud of the past 29 years and looks forward to the 30th being as entertaining as ever.
