Public Relation Officer at International Yoga Festival & Health Expo Foundation - N/A, N/A, CA
Our mission for this festival is to inspire and connect our communities to live creative, healthy, vibrant and stress free active lives through the practice of yoga and mediation. Our Vision:Yoga is an invaluable gift of ancient Indian tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body. Together with the Ayurveda tradition, the festival thrives to bring to the city of Vancouver this unity that yoga brings. The Yoga, an ancient technique of controlling body and mind, widely practiced in India. The technique was originated by Gurus and Saints for combining body and mind by meditation-driven means to achieve liberation. The Yoga has been practiced in vast parts of Asia since ancient time. Yoga gurus from India later introduced it to the west, following the success of Swami Vivekananda in the late 19th and early 20th century. In the 1980's, Yoga became popular as a system of physical exercise across the Western world. Yoga in Indian traditions, however, is more than physical exercise; it has a meditative and spiritual core. Further, it is a meditative means of discovering dysfunctional perception and cognition, as well as overcoming it for release from suffering, inner peace and salvation. We envision a world through the yoga festival where each community member is able to bridge the gap between health and happiness. Yoga will hopefully increasingly become a bridge for the entire globe to connect. Yoga festival is a conscious movement celebrating and strengthening our unity. We inspire our communities to practice mindful living. Our efforts will create a bond across the local communities across religions, caste, race and geography. We would like to create a platform for future development of self expression and self realization.
