At Kids Kabin's main centre in Walker, children take part in practical, hands on activities. They learn new skills and share them, boosting their self-confidence and enabling them to play active and positive roles in their community. Each year hundreds of children from the local community take part in these activity workshops and turn their ideas into reality. Local primary schools also visit the centre for creative curriculum sessions. Kids Kabin also takes mobile trailer workshops into disadvantaged neighbourhoods in Newcastle upon Tyne and Middlesbrough and runs street pottery, cookery, woodwork and bike repair workshops for children. Over the winter months, these street workshops move into local community centres or church halls.
