Inspired by the need to provide the proper set of tools to tackle rampant Chicago environmental injustices head-on, the Chicago Environmental Leadership Initiative aims to empower Chicago youth leaders from across Chicago's 77 diverse neighborhoods to enact real environmental change in their communities. In this way, the goal of Chicago Environmental Leadership Initiative is three-fold: to plan, execute, and digitize an intensive experience that specializes in teaching the basic tools needed by impacted young leaders today to combat climate and environmental injustice.Our curriculum is focused on providing detailed and free online instruction by leading environmental professionals from across the sector. Our online content library will feature three main media, all with a clear and concise path of study toward completing the program and gaining certification in environmental leadership and stewardship: articles, podcasts, and videos. It is our hope that the CELI connects, inspires, and provides the space for youth leaders to enact change in their communities across Chicago, and beyond.
