Keyhole Press is dedicated to furthering the reach of contemporary literature by means of print, web, and other forms of publishing. Keyhole promotes emerging writers and artists in Nashville and across the country. Keyhole encourages reading and writing in the form of magazines, books, and alternative bodies of media. Keyhole publishes a quarterly literary journal, composed of fiction, non-fiction, and poetry from a wide selection of writers. The journal serves to promote these writers by introducing their art to a varied group of readers. In addition to the quarterly journal, Keyhole promotes writers and encourages reading through several innovative approaches to literary publishing. Included in this is the monthly printing of postcards that feature short works of fiction or poetry and are distributed for free in several major cities. Also, Keyhole has partnered with the "Is Reads" program, an outdoor literary journal, to create "Nashville is Reads." The selections are posted in various outdoor locations around Nashville, creating a unique reading experience. Keyhole is an imprint of Dzanc Books. Dzanc Books was created in 2006 to advance great writing and champion those writers who don't fit neatly into the marketing niches of for-profit presses. As a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization, Dzanc Books not only publishes excellent books of literary fiction, but works in partnership with literary journals to advance their readership at every level.
