The Community Action Initiative Society of BC (CAI) was created in 2010 to recognize community focused mental health and substance use services as essential guideposts on the path to better health outcomes for all British Columbians. CAI has a long track record in leadership and equitable grant making, leveraging provincial investments to support strategic shifts in the types of services offered and innovation in how services are delivered in mental health and substance use prevention, health promotion and treatment. CAI facilitates community engagement, convenes diverse stakeholders and ensures knowledge is mobilized within and across communities. From 2010-2020, CAI has supported over 480 projects ranging from healthy transitions for vulnerable youth, to promoting mental health and wellness in older adults and their caregivers, to implementing community-based overdose prevention and response efforts. We acknowledge that collectively, province-wide, our work takes place on stolen Indigenous lands and align our work with the Indigenous-led struggle for decolonization.Sign up for our newsletter to be the first to know about new grant opportunities and projects through: https://communityactioninitiative.us4.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=48bb99e926d563ae502b915c4&id=87b88b7350
