Thomas Adams is a successful co-educational community school, sixth form and boarding house in the centre of Wem, Shropshire, with an outward-facing approach to education. Founded in 1650 by Thomas Adams, baronet, a local boy who later became Lord Mayor of London, we still have strong ties with the Drapers' Society in London. There are two main sites on our 30-acre campus. The Lowe Hill buildings cater for Years 7-11, providing excellent facilities for all curricular areas. At the Noble Street site we have our Sixth Form, housed in the attractive grammar school building. We also have a thriving boarding provision, Adams House.Adams House is a state boarding school for students aged 11-18. Increasingly we find that parents are choosing state boarding schools ahead of boarding in the independent sector as they see they can obtain the education and pastoral care they are seeking for a fraction of the cost.
