We transition Austin's homeless neighbors into an engaged community through shelter, opportunity, and support. Right now, our largest offering is the Workforce First Program. Workforce First is an alternative employment program, where individuals are offered the opportunity to work in service of the community as an alternative to panhandling. Participants engage in the work of large-scale environmental clean up, subsidized housing improvements, public art maintenance, and sheltered animal enrichment. Individuals earn $15 an hour and are provided with lunch and transportation to the work site. Folks enrolled in TOOF programming are offered free and voluntary case management services aimed at breaking down barriers to permanent employment and housing, including financial advising, help securing vital documents, and support navigating housing services. We are already working on expanding our programming far beyond the Workforce First Program, and look forward to sharing our progress with you!
