The Aldridge Foundation's two Academies, Brighton and hove have partnered up with Brighton's first local television station, Latest TV, to offer a new Digital Media Academy to students. The Brighton Digital Media Academy will open in 2015 and become the focal point for the city's digital media education for 14-19 year olds, as well as proving creative and digital media industry training for the wider sector. Close links will be forged between industry and education, resulting in a truly unique partnership which will ensure that the city's creative and digital industry needs are fully met, and indeed exceed expectations. Brighton's new digital media educational offer has been designed to inspire, motivate, nurture talent and support individuals in achieving their full potential. Our aim is to deliver a curriculum which is representative of the diversity of this vibrant industry. The uniqueness of the academy will be the relationship between industry and educators working in collaboration to ensure that we produce the future pioneers of the digital media industry. Our learners will be fully prepared for employment, having gained skills and real life work experience which will support their progression into the creative digital media industry. They will have at the heart of their skills set, entrepreneurial and forward thinking attributes, which with the support of our industry partners will spring board them into this exciting, vibrant and fast growing industry.
