AWCA was founded in 2002 with the objective of providing support and encouraging professional development of Black female Chartered Accountants. Our vision is to "accelerate the development of Black female Chartered Accountants". In order to realise this vision, the AWCA board has implemented a "three tier strategy", which focuses on the following aspects:1) identification and development of young girls;2) nurturing and training of these aspiring Chartered Accountants; and 3) leadership development of both qualified and aspiring Black female Chartered Accountants. Through this strategy we are able to identify, develop, and nurture future leaders embracing our motto, which is "to develop as we lead."
