We are a home-grown architectural practice with a global presence. Through our work with numerous local and regional healthcare and research institutions, we have developed a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the design of medical wards, research laboratories, testing laboratories and high-containment facilities. Our role as a designer is closely tied with our role as a hospital planner or a laboratory planner, as the flow of people and processes are foremost to the design of such facilities.A design should not only be functional but should also be enlivening. We strive to create an identity to a facility, leaving visitors and staff members an emotional memory of the facility after departure. We encourage collaborations through creating spaces for deliberate interactions, and pause spaces for chance encounters.Our design starts with listening to the users' needs, paying close attention to the users' desired experience in the future facility, and to realise their vision through empathy-in-design and close attention to detail.
