The mission of Action Africa is to provide services in the vital areas of health, education, micro-enterprise development, and human rights for African children and families in the Washington, D.C. area and rural villages of sub-Saharan Africa.Our Programs serve children & families in rural African villages; every person of the world deserves to be granted with basic human rights. Action Africa has been active on the ground in the two West African countries of Nigeria and Sierra Leone, and in the United States.In collaboration with village chiefs and elders, teachers, African volunteer medical teams, and other village associations, Action Africa, Inc has served several thousand people yearly over the last two decades through free medical clinics which incorporate HIV/AIDS prevention education.A goal of Action Africa, Inc. is to help newly arrived lawful immigrants to ease their transition into American life in the Washington, D.C. area. We provide services to help them obtain housing, take advantage of educational opportunities, obtain employment and access to health and medical care in the Washington, D.C area. Action Africa also works to increase sustainable economic self sufficiency for sub-Saharan youth and families through the provision of medical, educational, and business development activities.Action Africa, Inc was founded in 2000 and is based in Washington, DC. It is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization recognized by the IRS: EIN # 52-2233698. It is run by a highly dedicated, active, volunteer Board of Directors. Action Africa participates in the Combined Federal Campaign): CFC # 55633.
