The Cattaneo Institute produces research, publications, training activities, public seminars and conferences so as to promote the knowledge of contemporary Italy (in a European context) with particular attention to social and economic phenomena and the political and institutional significant trends that characterize them. Specific attention has been paid over the years to the issues of political participation, the quality of democracy and the exercise of freedom, the functioning of public institutions and policies, as well as the phenomena that characterize the dynamics of Italian social life, from inequality to poverty, from immigration to access to services, from health care to education and culture. The Institute, thanks to the strong multidisciplinary nature and broad methodological skills of its distinguished professionals, researchers and academics, can also offer training activities of excellence in the field of data analysis, analysis of public policies and innovative techniques for citizen participation and the institutional communication activities, addressed mainly to public authorities and private services providers, as well as private companies, associations and civil society organizations.
