The color palette has always enticed me as a young child. Falling in love with art at a very tender age and being trained in it, I feel solace and joy even today. Offering art classes is my passion. Trained at the School of Art Institute, Chicago and after obtaining MS in Computer Science and working for a while in the IT field, I decided to pursue my passion and take a step forward. We started our journey 6 years back with a group with just four kids and today we are privileged to work with over 300 students nationwide. Over the course of time Paisley Academy Arts & Fabrics LLC was born. We have 2 main locations in Illinois, Long Grove and Schaumburg. Our online classes came into existence 3 years back and we are glad to reach out to students from many different states ( a few join from other countries as well)Over the past years several of our students' artwork have been selected and exhibited in many public events including one at the Indian Consulate, Chicago.Every year we conduct our exhibition in Fall. Last year we had over 500 people attend our exhibition and we were fortunate to have our guest of honor from the Indian Consulate to encourage and support our students. We have also been highly encouraged by the Indian Embassy in Washington and this year I have conducted Facebook LIVE sessions for the Embassy.In addition, I've always been interested in Indian traditional art (Kalamkari Art), conducted several workshops for adults both private, corporate ( Baxter) and for other organizations as well. These workshops have been well accepted and highly appreciated. The goal is to promote this form of art, educate and let others know about the cultural heritage of India. Since this uses natural dyes it's also sustainable and environment friendly.Somehow down the lane, textiles interested me. We are exploring and experimenting the world of textiles mainly with handwoven and natural dyes. It's definitely been a very rigorous and a very rewarding journey since
