Lumon is a world leader in frameless retractable balcony glazing systems and balcony railings, with operations in more than 20 countries. The balcony glazing systems on condos are typically installed between the top of the rail and the ceiling of the balcony, creating a protected non-thermal space that does not add to the gross floor area or floor space ratio (GFA/FSR). Additionally, because the glass panes are frameless, they do not affect the appearance of the building or alter the overall design. This innovative product has transformed the building industry in Finland and elsewhere in Europe, where Lumon has been manufacturing and installing these systems for over 40 years. They are backed by decades of research and development, including rigorous product tests relating to wind load, energy savings, noise reduction, fire resistance, carbon footprint, and seismic engineering.
