Head Of Marketing Department at IIChE Student Chapter, DJSCE - Mumbai, Maharashtra, India
D. J. Sanghvi College of Engineering's IIChE student chapter aims to bridge the gap between the industrial world and academics by working as an engine to provide unparalleled thrust to the aspirations of each budding chemical engineer. Adhering to its credo mentioned above, it has organized a spectrum of events in the past year (2019-20) to impart practical knowledge to the students. First among all, the committee's two-day annual flagship conclave- "ALChemE (Applied Learning in Chemical Engineering)" has been a host to numerous industry stalwarts including Padma awardees like Prof. M. M. Sharma over the years and has also witnessed thousands of student participants pan Maharashtra. Besides this in the past year, it has organized several other events which include a lecture on "Ionic Liquids and its Application in Epoxidation Catalysis" by the faculty of TUM Asia, a workshop on "Speed Reading and Mind Mapping" and a seminar cum technical workshop on "Sustainable Development" followed by an extremely fruitful Industrial visit to GIDC-Vapi. Adding to all these, in March 2020, DJSCE IIChE got an august opportunity to host the coveted "N. R. Kamath Quiz Competition (ChEQ 2020)" which was a great success in itself. Apart from academics, DJSCE IIChE has spearheaded social battles as well. Given the fact that it is run by future chemical engineers, it came forward at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, formulated, developed and supplied WHO grade IPA-based hand sanitizers to the deprived. In all, the student chapter has left no stone unturned in providing the students, an exposure to the professional world and at the same time has assisted in making each one of them responsible chemical engineers who can lead the change in this technology driven era.
