Board Member, Director of Educational Programming at Southern California Children's Museum (SCCM) - Pasadena, California, United States
We're in the era of experiences! Southern California Children's Museum (SCCM) is founded by a small, hardworking group of parents who saw a need for quality early childhood education options and decided to take action. Since receiving our 501c3 non-profit status, we've been operating one day programs and raising funds to create a permanent SCCM that can make a huge difference within our community.SCCM provides play-based activities designed to foster excitement and spark a real sense of wonder. This isn't a park. It's much more than the zoo. Whether interacting with a fire engine, getting a little dirty in a construction zone, or experiencing what it's like to perform on stage – SCCM exhibits are here to create more for kids who, let's face it, deserve more. In addition to rotating exhibits that keep the museum fresh and interesting for our little guests, we bring to life the four main exhibit focus areas that have been our vision from the beginning. These four focus areas are: Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Culinary Arts, and My California. With these focus areas, we plan to make SCCM a place unlike any other, in which the children of Southern California and beyond can learn about culture and the arts while meeting developmental milestones – all through imaginative play.
