The Human Rights Defense Curaçao Foundation (HRDC) was established on December 6, 2019 as a Curaçaoan citizens' initiative. Our vision is to work towards an equitable, intercultural and inclusive Curaçaoan society where everyone's universal rights and freedoms are respected regardless of age, gender, nationality, and race. We are an independent, non-governmental organization that protects, defends, and advocates for the universal human rights and freedoms of everyone in Curaçao. We strive to achieve our mission through policy advocacy, capacity building, and strengthening public support for our work. We carry out our mission in close collaboration with a network of local and internaitonal partners including the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF), United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Samenwerkende Fondsen, and VluchtelingenWerk Nederland. We work to serve all people residing in Curaçao, whose human rights are being threatened or violated, regardless of their age, gender, nationality, or race.
