DriveChange Learning and Resource Centre is a progressive learning centre for learners from pre-primary through Grade 12. The centre is situated on a farm and is carefully designed with eco-friendly elements to inculcate sustainable practices. Classrooms are open and made with bamboo or wood with mud floors. The campushouses a library, 10 classrooms, a science lab, a tinkering lab, a playground and an amphitheatre. There are other open spaces for sports, meetings and discussions. DLRC is proud to have bio toilets with a flush-less system to minimize water wastage. There is zero water wastage on campus and the rain water harvesting pond collects all run-offs. The vermicompost bin converts biomass into manure and the biogas system converts food waste into methane gas which fuels the stove in the kitchen. We feel very fortunate to have a green campus, in the city, with buildings made of natural materials. Snakes, frogs, ants (many varieties), mosquitoes, flies, birds, dogs, mice and many many species of plants all exist on the farm. We understand that the ecosystem is interdependent and support this by letting the animals be. We strive to provide a holistic learning environment, guided by passionate facilitators, to nurture independent thinking, creativity, responsibility, and integrity in an individual. A DLRC education enables children and young adults to realize their full potential and to believe in their power to affect positive change. The program combines academic rigor with the joy of learning.
