Our history:The idea of a gentle and happy school held enormous appeal to a group of expats and Indians in 1962, who being dissatisfied with the options available for their children, set out to establish something different. Smaller class sizes, children being encouraged to ask questions and speak their mind, parental involvement being fundamental and an imperative were all unusual ideas at the time. These ideas of a group of visionary parents, have today become the strong foundation on which BIS has been built. School Philosophy:BIS believes that the pursuit of excellence and the joy of learning go hand in hand. This extends into other facets as well and the global and the local blend together in a culture that respects tradition while embracing change. Our aim is to create confident lifelong learners who have not just the academic prowess but also character and leadership skills that make them adaptive change-makers, ready to face the challenges of the 21st century.Curriculum:The School follows the PYP curriculum till Grade 5. It prepares its students for the Cambridge IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) Year 10 examinations. For Years 11 and 12, we offer the IB (International Baccalaureate) Diploma Programme. Our excellent results at these Board examinations bear testimony to our faculty members, who create a challenging and stimulating learning experience for our students.
