Instead, we need to build skills and expertise that give us the best chance at successfully negotiating the ambiguous, in-the-moment challenges of our daily lives.About The Human FactorThe Human Factor designs and delivers educational programs to build negotiation, influence, and advocacy skills as a path to more effective organizations, more agency as individuals, and greater value for all. Also, we believe that opportunities to build these skills should be available to all, and a portion of our profits are dedicated to opening pathways for underrepresented groups and individuals who normally would not have access to negotiation and advocacy skills. Why Negotiation?Negotiation is often seen as a discrete skill—one primarily leveraged in salary conversations and car dealership parking lots. In reality, we negotiate every day. We negotiate through conflicting goals, interests, and motivators as we lead teams, build products, grow our businesses, and interact with others in our daily lives. This presents an opportunity: Not only do strong negotiation skills lead to better daily outcomes, they promote long-term effectiveness in teams and support healthy relationships at work, at home and in our communities.Our ApproachWith a focus on building practical skills in our clients' lives and organizations, The Human Factor offers corporate education, bespoke team development and training, and skills-based intensives for individuals, teams, and organizational leadership. Our approach emphasizes both the theory and application of negotiation research, interpersonal and conflict management methods, and human-centered organizational change.
