** WHO IS JFYNetWorks? **JFYNetWorks is a Boston-based education agency that helps middle and high school students meet state performance standards and get into college at the credit-earning level. The JFYNet Blended Learning program brings digital resources and techniques into the classroom by training and supporting teachers through professional development and on-site coaching. It helps schools attain two critical goals: proficiency for all students, and college access at the credit earning—not "developmental"—level. To date, JFYNet has provided instruction to more than 50,000 students and counting. ** MISSION ** "To empower youth and adults through education and job training to realize their full potential as achieving students, productive earners and engaged citizens."** HISTORY **JFYNetWorks, a Boston-based non-profit education & training agency, was founded in 1976 under the name Jobs For Youth. The mission of the organization was to help high school dropouts find entry-level jobs through job-readiness and basic English and math tutoring. In 2000, JFY applied its competency-based educational techniques to the cause of MCAS preparation and introduced the use of instructional technology. This program was called JFYNet. In 2003, the agency changed its name to JFYNetWorks.
