TMA is a convener and source of information founded in 1915 by the cigar industry to reduce IP litigation through an open record of trademarks and increase information sharing with external stakeholders in the face of disruption by a new product: machine made cigarettes. TMA now serves the entire tobacco and nicotine industry and stakeholder community from seed to shelf along with labs, law firms, financial companies, consultants, government, and civil society.
