The Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory is a center for musical studies in the sub-metropolitan city of Lalitpur, just outside Kathmandu, Nepal. Since our opening in 2007, our vision at KJC is to create a rich musical environment where musicians are exposed to different musical genres, and, most importantly, a comfortable and nurturing school where all musicians at all skill levels can receive a proper music education.Our comprehensive curriculum allows students to choose from among a wide variety of courses including applied lessons in various instruments, music arranging, improvisation, jazz and Hindustani music theory and history, ear training, midi creation, and studio recording instruction - subjects not offered elsewhere in Nepal. To achieve this we are recruiting teachers from abroad to help train the Nepali staff, and our school features a highly skilled, competent and fully trained staff.
