DBGT is envisioned to boost maritime trade in the South India as South India's container market accounts close to 3 Million TEUs, which is 20% of India's trade. DBGT stands at the forefront of technological advancements and has high productivity with an average Gross Crane rate of 32 moves/ hour, average berth productivity 67 moves/hour, average vessel & gate moves 1200 containers/ day and Truck Turnaround Time (TTT) averaging at 20 minutes per trailer. The highest Gross Crane Rate (CGR) we have achieved during the year 2019 was on MV. SSL Mumbai / 31.01.2019 @58.11 Moves/ Hr and highest Berth Productivity was achieved when Maersk Avon sailed on 22nd September 2019 @ 94.86 moves / Hour. DBGT is the most efficient and competitive dwell time performer too among the East Indian Container Terminals with import dwell time averaging at 1.6 days and exports at 3.5 days. Aggressive marketing initiatives are being undertaken to improve the Port Trade, Logistics and also to attract new Cargoes.Well served the trade with hot timely connections which was one of the most significant customer oriented factor that yields more volume through Tuticorin Port. Our Terminal enjoys the benefits of excellent mutli-modal connections. The most time sensitive cargoes have been identified and considered as top priority to get connected on the assigned vessel without any hassle. Major share of cargo is being received and delivered through – roadways, however we have received a considerable volume through rail as well during the year 2019 and more rail services are expected in the near future.
